Job
Published in Paperback by Nelsonword Publishing Group (December, 1991)
Average review score:

Educational and applicable to lifeThis verse-by-verse commentary on Job makes the Hebrew poetry understandable. McGee applies it to modern day sufferings and attempts to explain the eternal question, "Why do the righteous suffer and wicked prosper in this world?" Many lessons can be learned through McGee's teaching. His very readable (& sometimes even humorous) way of explaining Biblical truths is refreshing. I have learned much from this Biblical scholar, especially in this in-depth study of Job.

King Arthur and His Knights (Macmillan Little Classics)

Great books, great size.I can tell from my kid's reading enthusiasm that this is a great collection of classics. But best of all, I think it's a great idea to
print the books in small dimensions (15 cm) ---- kids simply can not hold the regular books as conveniently as adults!

I tried those 8.5" x 11" weight-lifting versions of the same-title classics, my kid never read them for more than five minutes.

Little Who's Zoo of Mild Animals
Published in Hardcover by Encore Editions (March, 1983)
Average review score:

A fantastic children's of poems about imaginary animalsI purchased this book at a remainder shop about ten years ago. It is a great favorite of my children for bedtime reading. It features tales of about a dozen hybrid animals such as rhinocerostrich and camelephant. Each animal has an original illustration and a poem about the animal. This is a wonderful book. I highly recommend it.

Looking Beyond Race: The Life of Otis Milton Smith (Great Lakes Books)
Published in Hardcover by Wayne State Univ Pr (T) (November, 2000)
Average review score:

Something Well Worth ReadingI found Mr. Smith's memoirs insightful and interesting. A true icon among those who mastered life in both the public and private sectors, Mr. Smith left a legacy of character, pragmatic behavior and reconciliation with the apparent facts surrounding race relations in our country. Had I to attempt what he did at the time it was done, I am not certain that I could have performed as admirably as he did. It is a story that many should know.

The Monarchy and the Constitution
Published in Hardcover by Clarendon Pr (February, 1996)
Average review score:

Good introduction to modern monarchyIn this book Vernon Bogdanor presents the past and present of Constitutional Monarchy in Britain and also where it might go in the future. He begins with a review of how constitutional monarchy has developed in Chapter 1. In the following chapters, he considers specific issues in depth such as the succession, prerogative, and the relationship between the monarchy and the Church of England. He concludes with what might be the future of the Monarchy. The issues are covered in such a way that the reader understands why Britain still has a monarchy and how it functions in a modern society. It is not a difficult book to read, but the author assumes the reader has some knowledge of the British political system. There is still much to be gained, however, even if the reader is not very familiar with British politics. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in the subject.

The Negro in Mississippi, 1865-1890.
Published in Hardcover by Greenwood Press Reprint (September, 1984)
Average review score:

an important contribution to Southern historyVernon Wharton's THE NEGRO IN MISSISSIPPI, 1865-1890 is an important work, greatly aiding in the understanding of that period of Southern history which we call Reconstruction. It is an excellent example of scholarship, dealing with wider issues than is indicated by the book's title. It is well-written, insightful, and valuable to anyone interested in the post-bellum South. Wharton's finest opus should be read by all students interested in history and race relations in the United States.
